FIRST BOOK CONTRIBUTION (2007)

Making Waves with David Hasselhoff

Published by St. Martin's Press, New York, NY.

In 2004, I wrote a heartfelt thank-you note to David Hasselhoff, explaining the ways I was inspired by the Knight Rider slogan, "One man can make a difference."

David generously responded, asking if he could publish my letter in Appendix I of his autobiography, in his words, "... as an inspiration to others."

I wholeheartedly agreed.  Mine is the only letter published from a fan.

Read my thank-you note to David.

"Though Michael Knight was a fictional person who never asked me to believe in him, he was the first television character who taught me to believe in myself and try to always come out a winner."

DR. PAUL'S MEMOIR (2022)

Yes I Can!  Lessons Learned from a Life Less Ordinary

Self-published by Paul Wichansky LLC, Freehold, NJ.

An uplifting memoir of a former special needs child who has faced incredible adversity and became a leading motivational speaker and disability advocate.

I share stories that have enabled me to fully accept and navigate the limitations of cerebral palsy and hearing loss, achieving beyond what others believed I could do.

Uniquely structured and written from a first-person point-of-view, I switch to the second-person narrative at the end of each chapter to help inspire the reader.

IN MY OWN WORDS

"For the first time in my life, the question, “Why me?” seemed to be an unusually selfish attitude. Rather, I should instead have been asking myself, “Why not me?” My challenges should not emotionally paralyze me; they have helped me discover my other gifts — to love, to learn, to treasure."

SECOND BOOK CONTRIBUTION (2024)

Take Me With You

Celebrating the Stories, Lessons, and Wisdom of the Mothers who Shaped Our Lives

Submitted essay to be considered for publication in October 2024.

I have submitted a 3500-word essay about my late mom, Barbara Wichansky, who faced her own challenges with courage, grace, and humility.  I am hoping that the essay is worth consideration for inclusion in this proposed book.

IN MY OWN WORDS

"Our mothers who gave us life have also given us the power to share unconditional love with others, regardless of race, culture, heritage, religion, or lifestyle. We sadly do not yet fully harness this power."

"Reading this book was an amazing experience! It reminded me somewhat of a real-life Forrest Gump as Paul brilliantly describes overcoming adversity with unwavering positivity in leading an incredibly full and impactful life. Paul takes us on a journey filled with inspiration, unrelenting optimism, spirituality, and humor. Then, throw in some really cool celebrity encounters which added even more to the entertainment! Paul's descriptions of the challenges he sought and conquered were fascinating - from public speaking as a young child to jumping out of airplanes a few years later. The love letter to his [late] Mom was the perfect ending - Simply amazing!"

"A must read for anyone who is looking for personal fulfillment, self-improvement and to improve the lives of all others one interacts with.

Dr. Paul reinforces the concept introduced by Napoleon Hill decades ago - what the mind believes the mind can achieve - but through his own personal experiences, perseverance and resilience (all the while putting a non-stop smile and laughter on your face while reading this book).  Dr. Paul showcases the impact that a positive attitude can have in overcoming personal obstacles and the world by benefitting all those around you. Through his vivid and comical storytelling, he also displays the benefits in having a strong support system along the way and how wealth should not always be defined by tangible possessions, but instead by friends, families, colleagues and this overall support system. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!"
