Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky

Sharing the voice and vision of courage and optimism.
Motivational and Keynote Speaker for Schools, Colleges, Companies, and Organizations.

"The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum has been honored to welcome Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky as a keynote speaker for our prestigious Power of One eminent speaker series on two unforgettable occasions. Dr. Paul truly has a calling to reach people particularly adolescents. He is fearless and can break through the most hardened exteriors to make meaningful connections and does so with absolute sincerity and genuine kindness. He is a gift to the world and we look forward to having him return to share his inspiring message at future programs.

Paul is a wonderful individual, with polished skills, ambitions, and inspiration.

I attended a conference where Paul was the keynote speaker. The two audiences were comprised of children and teens with multiple cognitive and behavioral difficulties in addition to their counselors and school administrators. Despite the challenging audiences, he quickly mesmerized them with his courage, inspiration, and optimism. The auditorium was often filled with laughter as he shared uplifting and insightful stories that motivated our students and staff to realize their own goals and dreams. I highly recommend Paul to be a speaker at your conferences, workshops, programs, or classes. He will wow you and the audiences.

Afterwards, we spoke at length about his career aspirations. He showed depth and understanding of theories, concepts, and presentation skills. From the discussions he and I have had, I can easily see his commitment to entering into a research position in meteorology (or land-atmosphere modeling) with the government, a contractor, or perhaps a postdoctoral research associate in atmospheric science, and his passion for science outreach activities.

Paul described his career aspirations with such zeal, that he will be excellent on your staff. He has motivation to succeed and I recommend him highly!

As a college professor for over 30 years, I've had hundreds of guest speakers in my classes: famous athletes, winning coaches, world-class experts, even the governor of the state! Only one of these speakers has ever received a standing ovation from my students: Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky. College students are appreciative; they are just a little reluctant to show it! Not so with Dr. Wichansky. He stole their hearts. For some, he changed their lives. How do I know? My students have told me, sometimes years later.

Dr. Wichansky has spoken in several of my classes and, every single time, it was an amazing event. He is a remarkable speaker and even a more remarkable person. Dr. Wichansky is easily the best speaker in America.

You have many talents. Writing is most definitely one of them. Managing to get through and touch untouchable people like Billy Joel, Christopher Reeve, and David Hasselhoff is another. You never cease to amaze me, Paul. I am so proud of what you have accomplished and continue to accomplish.

I wonder where you get your motivation from. What makes you different from all those people that are full of intentions as opposed to having a history of results? You may not be very tall, but you have a lot more inside and behind you than anyone who stands taller.

With my wife newly pregnant, I can only hope that my child grows up with the charm, determination, and ability that you have (which is also what most people can only dream of). Disabled?! You? I think not!

Paul, your keynote address provided a shining example to our athletes -- and to all of us -- of what individuals can accomplish when they focus on developing their gifts and talents. This is a lesson that our incredible athletes and dedicated volunteers have learned through their involvement with Special Olympics.

Your inspiring story went a long way in reinforcing this valuable message! In just a few minutes, you were able to take the stage and form an immediate and unique bond with the 1,000 athletes gathered in the Pavilion. I hope you enjoyed the experience as much as all of your spectators did.

Dr. Paul is simply the most inspirational person I have ever met. He and I have formed a wonderful relationship since meeting many years ago at Rutgers University. I have had the honor of sitting in on several of Paul's motivational assemblies and I have seen, first-hand, the impact he has on everyone from elementary school children to corporate professionals. Paul's reflections on diversity and the unique abilities of individuals are captivating and are sure to leave an impression on even the hardest of hearts. Paul's story is not one you will soon forget.

Much has been said about Dr. Paul attesting to his charismatic presence as a speaker, his inspiring heartfelt words of motivation, and his exceptional ability to connect with everyone he speaks to - and it is all true! Knowing him personally, and seeing him often outside of the professional arena, Dr. Paul has these characteristics in all aspects of his life. Dr. Paul is a living example of what he teaches!

Paul did a presentation on Overcoming Adversity for a conference I chaired which was wonderful. I received positive comments about his presentation from so many of the participants. He touched each and everyone with an uplifting and motivating talk about life and how each day one should strive to become a better person.

Paul has a lot of wonderful ideas and stories that he shared with us. He made us laugh out loud and participants had huge smiles while listening to his presentation. He also touched many audience members deeply. His presentation was a big hit and I am very happy that I hired him to speak to our group.

Paul is a memorable presenter in all of the most positive ways!

I have been Paul's audiologist for 34 years. I have watched a little boy with cerebral palsy and severe hearing loss overcome physical, communication and educational barriers to become an intelligent, witty and inspirational adult. His academic achievements are awe-inspiring. When Paul received his doctorate in environmental science and meteorology, it was a very proud moment for me professionally and personally. When I took the opportunity to ask the first question at his Ph.D. defense, his professors were also impressed with Paul's educated and well-reasoned response. In addition, last year I have witnessed first-hand his motivational program to a captivated audience of high school seniors. A most impressive program and I recommend that you, too, attend one.

"Dr. Paul" is someone you want to know. No, "Dr. Paul" is someone you NEED to know! Wherever Paul is working, his personality is infectious and his positive attitude contagious.

I have been blessed to have had Paul in my life. You will feel the same way too!

    Motivational Speaker on Diversity

Through his words and actions, Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky can be described as "inspiration personified." Embarking on an ambitious journey to conquer the effects of cerebral palsy, Paul has delivered thousands of presentations and keynotes that inspire his audiences to look beyond a person's disabilities to understand and appreciate one's capabilities. By sharing his personal experiences with humor, Dr. Paul tries to instill a sense of hope, energy, and inspiration that motivates his audiences to realize their own goals and dreams.

Starting his public speaking career at age 10, Paul has since delivered his motivational programs to hundreds of thousands of children, teens, and professionals around the country. Besides his nearly 38 years of experience hosting programs at K-12 schools, colleges, and teacher conventions, Paul has delivered keynotes to professionals in the education, medical, financial and human services fields, including pharmaceutical companies (Bristol Myers Squibb) and Vanguard Financial. He has captivated thousands of athletes and coaches at the Special Olympics, inspired government representatives at The United Nations, and motivated federal agents of the U.S. Customs and Department of Homeland Security. His interactive workshops focus upon culturally important topics such as disability and multicultural awareness, employee productivity, human resource seminars, and sensitivity training.

Born with ataxic cerebral palsy, Paul's weak leg muscles prevented him from learning to walk unassisted until he was seven years old. He went through intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy over the years to strengthen his leg muscles and improve motor and hand-to-eye coordination, participating in sports, fitness training, and even skydiving and scuba diving! He was fortunate to be mainstreamed in his education, having earned both undergraduate and Masters degrees in meteorology.

Don't Hassel the Hoff: Autobiography of David HasselhoffPaul has written a heartfelt thank-you note to actor David Hasselhoff. In his letter, Paul explains how the Knight Rider television series made him understand (at an early age) that each of us can be heroes - in other words, ordinary people who triumph over extraordinary circumstances - like our favorite television characters did each week. Paul's inspirational letter is now published in David's memoirs, and available in bookstores internationally. Paul's thank-you note, the only fan letter published in David's book, appears on Pages 273-278 of the United States version.

Dr. Paul has hosted diversity seminars at companies and organizations; professional workshops for teachers, counselors, and school administration; and college lectures and evening keynotes to students and staff at eleven public and state universities across the nation. He has captivated students and professionals alike in twenty-one U.S. states and also residents of the United Kingdom and Taiwan.

In another milestone, Paul has earned a Ph.D in environmental science, under the option of atmospheric science, from Rutgers University. He was the recipient of their first annual New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) Graduate Scholar award. The lead author of a book chapter in New Jersey's Environments: Past, Present, and Future, Paul describes how historical land use change in New Jersey (since the late 19th century) may have influenced its regional weather and climate. His innovative research has been published in leading scientific journals and he has received official recognition from NOAA as well as a grant from NASA for advancing our knowledge of the regional weather impacts due to documented landscape change. His doctoral research was also featured as the cover story in the New York Times. Following his successful Ph.D defense, Paul was personally congratulated by the New Jersey governor.

A champion motivational speaker in front of any audience, Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky's own life experiences are a true testament to the unrelenting power of courage and unconditional love, shared through his experiences and feelings of self-criticism, reflection, humor, joy, and, ultimately, triumph.
